Structure

Verb Stem + ようがない

Examples

直(なお)してあげたいが、直(なお)しようがない。I want to fix it for you, but there is no way to fix it.
ここまで来(き)たら、戻(もど)りようがない。Since we came this far, there is no way to go back.
連絡(れんらく)先(さき)がないから、連絡(れんらく)しようがない。There's no contact info, so there's no way to contact them.

“It can’t be helped” / “There’s nothing that can be done”

仕方(しかた)がない。It can't be helped.
雨(あめ)だから仕方(しかた)がない。It's raining, so it can't be helped.
彼(かれ)がいないと、始(はじ)めようがない。Without him, there's no way to start.
